Oudmigrations concert series in Rome, Italy

In collaboration with ISMEO (Associazione Internazionale di Studi sul Mediterraneo e l’Oriente) and the Biblioteca Vallicelliana in Rome, Oudmigrations presented a series of 5 concerts between December 2018 and June 2019. The programmes were designed and performed by Tarek Abdallah, Rachel Beckles Willson, Peppe Frana, Francesco Iannuzzelli, Zied Mehdi and Salvatorra Morra.  They explored styles of oud playing including Iraqi, Tunisian and Turkish, along with the interconnected worlds of oud and the European lute, and specific repertoires such as the Egyptian Wasla and diverse Ottoman musics ranging from rebetiko to pesrev and semai.
